Solve the following word problems:
1. Mrs Baker bought 52 dozen eggs from the grocery store to bake some
cakes. How many eggs did she buy?

2. Adi has 75 muffins which he needs to box up into dozens. How many
boxes does he need?

3. There are 22 students in a group. The teacher has to give each student
65 pencils and 27 erasers. How many pencils and erasers will the teacher
have to give out altogether?

4. Don bought 665 crayons that came in packs of 25. There were 5 colours
of crayons. How many packs of crayons did Don buy?

Step-by-step explanation:

1) 1 dozen=12 eggs

52 dozen = 52×12

=624 eggs

2) 12 muffins = 1 dozen

1 muffin = 1/12 dozen

75 muffins = 75/12

6.2 box

but three would be left so not 6.3 but 7 boxes

3) 1 student = 65 pencil

22 students = 22×64

=1430 pencil

1 student = 27 eraser

22 students = 22×27

= 594 eraser

Total = 1430+594

= 2024 items

4) 25 packs = 665 crayons

1 pack = 665=÷25

=26.6 packs

which means he bought 27packs
