Hi so I know the 2nd soln. here it is

Let the pencils be x and pens be y

Now solve it simultaneously

5x+7y=50.............(1)

7x+5y=46............(2)

Now multiply equation (1) by 7 and equation (2) by 5

35x+49y=350

35x+25y=230

Now subtract it u will get

35x will get cancelled

24y=120

y=120/24

y=5

So now insert this value in equation (1)

u will get

5x+ 35 = 50

5x=50-35

5x=15

x=3

Verification

5 × 3 + 7×5 = 50

15 + 35 = 50

50 = 50

So 1 pencil costs 3rs. and pen costs 5rs.
