B) Backward direction on both P and Q.

ExPlanation:

Now as,Surface on which P is placed that is part of Q is rough so, P isn't going to slide easily and thus We can consider P & Q as a single object, so if we are pulling Q, P will also be pulled.

As,Friction opposes direction of force applied, so if we are applying force in forward direction, friction will oppose this and it will apply force in backward direction so as to restain it in its original position. And as friction is applying backward force on it,this same backward force will be applied on P as well.Therefore, opt B is correct.
