Heya !!!

Let the number of students in school be X.

Number of girls = 5/8 of X = 5X/8

Number of boys = Total Number of students - Number of Girls = X - 5X/8 = 8X - 5X/8 = 3X/8.

According to question,

Number of girls = Number of boys + 120

5X/8 = 3X/8 + 120

5X /8 = 3X + 960/8

5X×8/8 = 3X + 960

5X - 3X = 960

2X = 960

X = 960/2 = 480

Total Number of students in school = X = 480 students.

Number of boys = 3X/8 = 3 × 480/8 = 180
