Please solve for x
−0.55x − 4 = 0.45x

We're simply just trying to isolate "x."

So, simply add 4 to both sides.

-0.55x = 0.45x + 4

Then, subtract 0.45x from both sides, so that both "x's" are on the same side :)

-0.55x - 0.45x = 4

Simplify.

-1x = 4

Divide both sides by -1.

\dfrac{-1x}{-1} = \dfrac{4}{-1}

Simplify.

x = -4

Therefore, x = -4
