Let the number be added is x.

So, if x is added to each of the numbers 15,23,29 and 44 then they are in proportion

Therefore

(15+x) : (23 + x) :: (29 + x) : (44 + x)

(15 + x)/(23 + x) = (29 + x)/(44 + x)

660 + 15x + 44x + x² = 667 + 23x + 29x + x²

59x - 52x = 7

7x = 7

x = 1

So, the least number added to them should be 1.
