First of all we should note that in this problem the term 'speed' is being used in the same sense as 'velocity'.

Here, Initial velocity of bus, u = 80

km/hr = 22.2 m/s

Final velocity of bus = 60

km/hr = 16.6 m/s

And, Time taken, t =5 sec

Now, putting these values inthe formula of acceleration, we get :

a = (v - u)/t

a = (16.6 - 22.2)/5 m/s^2

a = - 5.6/5 m/s^2

a = -(28/25) m/s^2 = - 1.12 m/s^2

Thus, the acceleration of the bus is -1.12 m/s^2.
