Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Equations

x+y=a-b

and ax-by=a^2+b^2

To find : Solve the equations ?

Solution :

multiply by b, we get

bx+by=ab-b^2 ..................(1)

and ax-by=a^2+b^2 ........(2)

adding equation (1) and (2) we get,

bx+by=ab-b^2

ax-by=a^2+b^2

bx+ax=ab+a^2

x(b+a)=a(b+a)

x= a(b+a)

(b+a)

x=a

Substitute x=a in equation (1), we get

a+y=a-b

y=(-b)

Therefore, The solution of the equations is x=a and y=(-b).
