Hey There! This is your solution......................

a) Let the base angles be (x) and (x) respectively.

Then,

            x + x + 40 = 180

    Or,       2x + 40 = 180

    Or,                2x = 180 - 40

    Or,                2x = 140

    Or,                  x = 140/2

    Or,                  x = 70

Hence,

           The base angles are 70 and 70 respectively.

b) No, A triangle can't have anles as 60,70 & 70.

a) AB = AC

It is an isosceles triangle cause if two sides of the triangle are congruent or equal , then the triangle is isosceles..

So we know that in isosceles triangle the base angles of the congruent sides are equal so

Angle ABC = ACB

Total by angle sum property the total sum of angles of a triangle is 180 degree

ABC + ACB + CAB = 180

x + x + 40 = 180

2x + 40 = 180

2x = 180 - 40

2x = 140

x = 140/2=70

So both the angles have 70 degrees

b) No it can't have those angles as their sum will not be equal to 180 degrees so it will violates thr angle sum property of the triangle
