⇒ pqx² - p²x - q²x + pq = 0

⇒ px(qx - p) - q(qx - p) = 0

⇒ (px - q)(qx - p) = 0

(i)

px - q = 0

px = q

x = q/p.


(ii)

qx - p = 0

qx = p

x = p/q.


Therefore, roots of the equation are q/p, p/q.
