Area of triangle=1/2[2(4+2)+3(-2-4)+-1(4-4)]
=1/2[12-18+0]
=1/2[-6]
=-3
They are not collinear

Answer:

Not collinear

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the given points be A(2,4), B(3,4), C(-1,-2).

Distance formula: √(x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²

Finding AB:

Here : (x₁,y₁) = (2,4) and (x₂,y₂) = (3,4)

AB = √(3 - 2)² + (4 - 4)²

     = √1

     = 1

Finding BC:

Here, (x₁,y₁) = (3,4) and (x₂,y₂) = (-1,-2)

BC = √(-1 - 3)² + (-2 - 4)²

     = √(-4)² + (-6)²

     = √52.

Finding AC:

Here, (x₁,y₁) = (2,4) and (x₂,y₂) = (-1,-2)

AC = √(-1 - 2)² + (-2 - 4)²

     = √9 + 36

     = √45

Here, we see that AB + BC ≠ AC, BC + AC ≠ AB, AB + AC ≠ BC.

Hence, the points A,B, C are not collinear.

Hope it helps!
