Answer -

➩ ∠x + 45 = 140° ( corresponding angles are equal )

➩ x = 140 - 45

➩ x = 95°

➩ x = y ( alternate angles are equal )

➩ y = 95°

Additional information -

Angles made by a transversal with two parallel lines -

Transversal - A line which intersects two or more given parallel lines at distinct point is called transversal.

i) Corresponding angles - Two angles on the same side of transversal are known as the corresponding angles.

If a transversal intersects two parallel lines then the corresponding angles are equal.

ii) Alternate angles - If a transversal intersects two parallel lines then the alternate angles are equal.

iii) Co - interior angles - The pair of angles on the same side of the transversal are called pairs of co-interior angles.

If a transversal intersects two parallel lines then the co-interior angles are supplementary.

angle X = 140°=45°+X ( corresponding angles)

angle X=140-45

=95°

angle X= angle y( alternate interior angle)

95°=95°HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU
