In triangle ABC,
BL is perpendicular to AC
area of triangle= 1/2×base×height
therefore, ar(ABC) = 1/2 × AC × BL
=1/2×24×8
=96 cm^2
In triangle ADC,
DM is perpendicular to AC,
therefore, ar(ADC) =1/2×AC×DM
=1/2×24×7
=84 cm^2
ar(ABCD) =ar(ABC)+ar(ADC)
=96+84
=180 cm^2
