current flowing through the appliances that are connected in series will be the same. so if one of the appliances gets fused so the circuit will break and the rest of the appliances will not work properly.

but in parallel circuit if one of the appliances gets fused then also the other appliances will keep working as in parallel circuit the path for the flow of current is different for each appliances. so it is wise to connect appliances in parallel circuit than in series circuit
