area of pqs =1/2 ×12×16

96cm square

hypotenuse square=base square + perpendicular square

hypotenuse square =52 square + 48 square

hypotenuse square = 400

hypotenuse =root 400

hypotenuse = 20

area of pqr =1/2×48×20

area of square pqr= 480 cm square

area of shaded portion =(480-96) cm square

=384 cm square
