\huge\boxed{\fcolorbox{purple}{ink}{Answer}}

y =  \frac{9}{4}

Solution :-

 \frac{y - 6}{4}  =  \frac{2y}{5}  -  \frac{7(y + 3)}{20}

 \frac{y - 6}{4} =  \frac{20(2y) - 5(7(y  + 3))}{5 \times 20}

 \frac{y - 6}{4}  =  \frac{40y - 35(y + 3)}{100}

 \frac{y - 6}{4}  =  \frac{40y - 35y - 105}{100}

 \frac{y - 6}{4}  =  \frac{5y  - 105}{100}

Now took the denominators of both LHS and RHS to thier opposite sides,

100(y - 6) = 4(5y  - 105)

100y - 600 = 20y - 420

100y - 20y = 600 - 420

80y = 180

y =  \frac{180}{80}

y =  \frac{9}{4}

Verification :-

 \frac{y - 6}{4}  =  \frac{2y}{5}  -   \frac{7(y + 3)}{20}

Now substitute the value of y in the terms of y

( \frac{ (\frac{9}{4} )- 6 }{4} ) = (  \frac{2( \frac{9}{4}) }{5} ) - ( \frac{7( \frac{9}{4})}{20} )

 \frac{ \frac{9 - 24}{4} }{4}  =  \frac{( \frac{8}{4}) }{5}  -  \frac{7( \frac{9 + 12}{4}) }{20}

 \frac{ - 15}{16}  =  \frac{18}{20}  - ( \frac{7( \frac{21}{4}) }{20} )

  \frac{ - 15}{16}  = ( \frac{18}{20} ) - ( \frac{ \frac{147}{4} }{20} )

 \frac{ - 15}{16}  = ( \frac{18}{20} )  \times ( \frac{4}{4}) - ( \frac{147}{80} ) \\  \frac{ - 15}{16}  =  \frac{72}{80}  -  \frac{147}{80}

 \frac{ - 15}{16}  =  \frac{72 - 147}{80}

 \frac{ - 15}{16}  =  \frac{ - 75}{80}

 \frac{ - 15}{16}  =  \frac{ - 15}{16}

Answer:

(y-6)/4 = 2y/5 - 7(y+3)/20

yo there's a mistake, it's -21 not +21 just make sure of the mistake

and

y= -15/4
