then x- 8 + 17 = x + 9 and the denominator is x - 1 ⇒ (x + 9)/(x - 1) = 3/2

solving we get x =21 ⇒ the rational number is 13/21

2. let the numerato be x ⇒ the rational number is x/x + 3

then denominator = x + 7 and numerator = x + 1 ⇒ (x + 1)/(x +7) = 1/2

solving we get x = 5 ⇒ the rational number is 5/8

3. let the numbers be x and y ⇒ x/y = 3/5

and then x +10/y + 10 = 5/7

solving we get x =15 and y =25
