the resistance in the upper half is 8ohm.and the lower half is 10ohm. so total resistance is 18 ohm.

given v=12V

we know that I=v/r

current=12/18

current=2/3.

Explanation:

let Rp1 be the resistance of R1 and R2

as they are connected in parallel Rp1 turns out to be 8 ohms

Let Rp2 be the resistance of R3,R4,R5

And it turns out to be 10ohms

Since Rp1 and Rp2 are in parallel the total resistance is 4.44ohms

And according to ohms law,

I=V/R

=12/4.44

=2.70A

suhasarava3: Rp1 and Rp2 are not in parallel,they are in series
