In this question Pythagoras theorem is used

i.e. (AB)^2 =( BC)^2 +( AC)^2

  1. x^2=4^2 + 7^2

x^2 = 16 + 49

x=65

2. a^ 2= 5^2 +5^2

a^2= 25+25

a= 50

3. P^2= 13^2 - 7^2
