1-laterite soil develops in areas with high temperature therefore micro organisms like bacteria which helps in decomposition get destroyed . Therefore there is no means of decomposition so it is less fertile
2- Black soil is ideal for the growth of cotton hence known as cotton soil
3- Due to the high temperature in the region , evaporation is faster and thus it lacks humus and moisture
