a=½, ß=½

a+ß = ½
aß = ½

The required quadratic equation is:
x² - (a+ß)x + aß
x² - (½)x + ½
x² - ½x + ½
½ (x² - ¼x + ¼)
=> x²- ¼x +¼.....(Answer)

Therefore, the correct answer is 'x² - ¼x + ¼'.
