 \frac{7}{11}  -  \frac{x}{3}  =  \frac{24}{55}

Multiplying each term by 165. {165 is the lcm of 11,3 and 55}

 105 - 55x = 72 \\ 55x = 105 - 72 \\ 55x = 33

Dividing both sides by 11,

5x = 3 \\ x =  \frac{3}{5}
