Step-by-step explanation:

Taking x= 4/9 and y= -3/5,

(x+y)^-1= (4/9-3/5)^-1= (20-27/45)^-1= (-7/45)^-1= -45/7

x^-1+y^-1= 9/4-5/3= 27-20/12= 7/12

Hence, (x+y)^-1 is not equal to x^-1+y^-1

I hope this answer will help you..
