This is a process of gaseous exchange via diffusion.

Explanation: In this process the oxygen molecules diffuses from the blood stream to the different tissue cells by the process of diffusion and this process is done according to concentration gradient ( the difference between the concentration of two different molecules). As we know that carbon dioxide is the metabolic waste and its concentration is high in the cell than the blood present in artery so according to concentration gradient the oxygen molecules move from its higher concentration ( which is in artery blood) to its lower concentration i.e., in cells by the process of diffusion.

'X' is oxygen and 'Y' is Carbon dioxide.

Cellular respiration takes place in mitochondria. C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + 38 ATP
