let the digit at unit place be x and at tens digit be y and x>y
as given x=3y ..........(1)
now after interchanging unit digit will be y and of tens be x
so original digit can be represented as 10y+x
and the new digit as 10x+y
from question if we add original and new one we get 88
10y+x+10x+y=88
x+y=8........... (2)
from 1 and 2 we get x=6 and y=2
so required number is 26
