Find the area of the following figure -

Refer to the attachment .

Solution -

We can find the area of this figure by breaking into two parts .

Area of Figure -

=> Area of trapezium CDEF + Area of rectangle ABCF .

Area of trapezium CDEF -

=> ½ × [ Sum of parallel sides ] × [ Distance between them ]

=> ½ × [ FC + ED ] × h

=> ½ × [ 20 + 6 ] × 8

=> ½ × 26 × 8

=> 13 × 8

=> 104 cm²

Area of Rectangle ABCF

=> Length × Breadth

=> AB × BC

=> 20 × 20

=> 400 cm²

Total area -

=> Area of trapezium CDEF + Area of rectangle ABCF .

=> 104 cm² + 400 cm²

=> 504 cm² .

This is the required answer .
