Answer: 126°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a= 2x and b=3x

From the figure, ∠POX = 90° (Linear pair with POY)

a + b =  90°

⇒2x +3x = 90°

⇒5x= 90°

⇒x= 90° ÷ 5

x = 18°

a = 2x = 2×18 = 36°

 b =  3x = 3×18 = 54°

From The figure,

∠MON = 180°

⇒b + c = 180° (Linear Pair)

⇒c= 180°-b

⇒c= 180°- 54°

c= 126°

GIVEN :-

  • Line XY and MN intersect at O.
  • ∠POY = 90°.
  • a:b = 2:3.

TO FIND :-

  • The value of c.

SOLUTION :-

Let the ratio constant be x.

★ Let a = 2x

Let b = 3x

Now by linear pair,

⇒ ∠POX + ∠POY = 180°

⇒ ∠POX + 90° = 180°

⇒ ∠POX = 180° - 90°

POX = 90°.

Now,

⇒ a + b = 90°

⇒ 2x + 3x = 90°

⇒ 5x = 90°

⇒ x = 90°/5

x = 18°

a = 2x = 2 × 18 = 36°

b = 3x = 3 × 18 = 54°

MON is a straight line,

∴ By linear pair,

⇒ b + c = 180°

⇒ 54° + c = 180°

⇒ c = 180° - 54°

c = 126°

Hence the value of c is 126°.
