Given that,
length of the rectangular plot=20m
breadth of the rectangular plot=14m
also given that
rectangular plot is covered with grass with all around leaving 2m.
Then,
length of grassy area=20-2-2=16m
and,
breadth of grassy area=14-2-2=10m
Now,
area of rectangular plot=20×14=280m²
and,
area of grassy area=16×10=160m²

Hence,
area to be laid with grass=160m²
and area without grass=280-160=120m²
