★ Given :

Reema borrowed (principal) = Rs. 60,000

Ruchira borrowed (principal) = Rs. 50,000

Reema and Ruchira's time period = 3 years

Reema paid simple interest of 10 %

Ruchira paid compound interest of 10 %

To find :

Who paid more interest and how much?

Method :

× Reema's simple interest on the given data

Simple interest = P × T × R /100

Simple interest = 60000 × 3 × 10 /100

Simple interest = 18,000

± Reema's paid interest = Rs. 18000

× Ruchira's Compound interest on the given data

Amount = P (1 + R/100)^N

Amount = 50000 ( 1 + 10/100)³

Amount = 50000 × 110/100 × 110/100 × 110/100

Amount = 66,550

Compound interest = Amount - Principal

Compound interest = 66550 - 50000

Compound interest = 16,550

± Ruchira's paid interest = Rs. 16550

Answer :

Reema paid more interest.

To find how much more = Subtract it

18000 - 16550 = 1,450

She paid Rs. 1450 more interest than Ruchira.
