We know that length of arc of semicircle = (1/2) * π * Diameter

(i) Length of boundary:

= (1/2) * π * (14 + 7 + 2 * 7/2)

= (1/2) * π * (21 + 7)

= (1/2) * (22/7) * 28

= 14 cm.


(ii) Area of shaded region:

= (1/2) * π * [7² + (7/2)² - 2 * (7/4)²]

= (1/2) * π * [441/8]

= (1/2) * 22/7 * 441/8

= 86.625 cm²
