1st pipe = 5hrs
in 1hr = 1/5 part
2nd part = 8hrs
in i hrs = 1/8 part
together = 1/5 - 1/8 = 3/40
3/40-----1
1-----------x
x = 1/3/40 × 1 = 1 × 40/ 3 × 1 = 40/3 = 13 1/3hrs
