Given:radius of the circle =6cm
PQ=QR=RS=12/3=4cm
PS=2r=2*6=12
(i)Area of circle=pie*radius^2
=3.14*(6)^2=113.04cm
Area of semi-circle PB=1/2pie(1/2PQ)^2
=1/2*3.14 (7/2)^2
=6.28cm^2
Calculate area of semi-circle PS & QS
then add area of semi-circle PB & PS, subtract the area of semi-circle QS with the answer.
You will get the required answe.
(ii)Perimeter of shaded portion
=1/2*2pie*PS/2+1/2*2pie*PS/2+1/2*2pie*Q S/2
=3.14*6+3.14*2+3.14*4
=3.14(6+2+4)=3.14*12=37.68..
