Let the length of the peice of another wire be x

Then, according to the question,

2\frac{3}{2}  =  \frac{5}{8}  + x \\  =  >  \frac{7}{2}  =  \frac{5}{8}  +  (\frac{x}{1} \times  \frac{8}{8})\\  =  >  \frac{7}{2}  =  \frac{5 + 8x}{8}

By Cross Multiplication Method,

7 \times 8 = 2(5 + 8x) \\  =  > 56 = 10 + 16x \\  =  > 56 - 10 = 16x \\  =  > 46 = 16x \\  =  > x =  \frac{46}{16}

 x =  \frac{23}{8} or  2\frac{7}{8}

Hence the lenght of piece of another wire is x = \frac{23}{8}m or 2\frac{7}{8}m
