It is given that B=L-4 (in question)

Now, Perimeter of a rectangle =2(L+B)

40= 2(L+B)

L+B= 20

L+(L-4)= 20 .... Substitute B=L-4

2L-4=20

2L=24

L=12

L+B=20

12+B=20... Substitute L=12

Hence B=8

Therefore

The length of the rectangle is 12 m and breadth is 8 m
