Like all other modern villages, Palampur is mainly inhabited by farmers of different castes. The number of farming activities include manufacturing, transport and shop-keeping etc. Some houses are quite large with many rooms. They are made of bricks and cement. There are smaller houses as well, which are made of mud and straw. Most of the housed have electricity connection. There is one High school and two primary schools in the village. There are some private dispanaries as well to treat the sick.
The Palampur village is well connected with the surrounding areas by road. One can see buses, trucks, tractors etc. Plying on the road along with carts, tongas etc.
