∴ Sum of their radii = 28 cm.
Let the radius of one of the sphere be 'r' cm and the other is (28 - r) cm.
Ratio of volumes = (4/3) πr³ : (4/3) π(28 - r)³
∴ By the given condition,
= [(4/3) πr³/(4/3)π(28-r)³] = 27/64
⇒ (r/28-r)³ = (3/4)³
⇒ r/28-r = 3/4
⇒ 4r = 3(28-r)
⇒ 4r = 84 - 3r
⇒ 7r = 84
⇒ r = 12
Therefore:
⇒ Radius of first sphere = 12 cm.
⇒ Radius of second sphere = (28 - 12) = 16 cm.
