B (1,0) , D(0,0), E(-1,0) and G(4,0) lies on the x - axis .

Explanation :

For any point to lie on X - axis or abscissa , its Y - coordinate must be 0 .

Since , only point B and D have Y coordinate 0 , these lie on the X - axis .

This can be done by plotting the graph . When a graph is drawn , the point that has 0 Y - coordinate will only cover distance in X axis and hence will lie on the abscissa .

Similarly , for any point to lie on Y - axis or ordinate , its X - coordinate must be 0 . If the question would have points that lie on Y - axis , A(0,8) would have been answer because this contains x coordinate as 0 .
