The side of isosceles triangle are
AB = a = 10cm
BC = b = 16 cm
AC = c = 10 cm
s = 10 + 16 + 10/ 2
s = 18 cm
By Heron 's Formula :
=√s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)
=√18(18 - 10)(18 - 16)(18 - 10)
=√ 18 × 8 × 2 × 8
=√(3 × 3 × 2) × (2 × 2 × 2) × (2) × (2 × 2 × 2)
=√ (3 × 3) × (2 × 2) × (2 × 2) × (2 × 2) × (2 × 2)
= 3 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2
= 48 cm²
