Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 a wealthy family in northern Kentucky. His father was a wealthy farmer but eventually lost his land when he was 7. Following this tragic occurence, his mother died when he was 9.His family moved Illinois after the sad demisal.
As a child, Lincoln got very little formal education, though he was very passionate in reading. Interestingly, he studied law just by reading law books and without attending college. He finally became a lawyer in 1837 at Springfield in Illinois
He began his political career by serving for the state legislature and in the U.S house of legislature. He was a very gifted orator he did numerous speeches against topics like slavery. He was nominated for presidency in 1860 an was also re elected in 1864
He was assassinated by John Wilks Booth on April 15, 1865.Even though he died decades ago, he is still remembered for his great wisdom, compassion and patriotism.
