Given that area of the parallelogram = 768 cm^2

Let height of the parallelogram = x cm

Given that the base of the parallelogram is thrice its height

then base will be 3x cm.

We know that area of the parallelogram = base * height

plug the above values

Area = (3x) (x)

768 = (3x) (x)

768 = 3x^2

 \frac{768}{3} = \frac{3x^2}{3}

256=x^2

take square root of both sides

16=x

So that means height of the parallelogram = 16 cm

Base of the parallelogram = 3x= 3*16= 48 cm

Hence final answer is base = 48 cm, height = 16 cm.
