It is used when a square root or any root of multiple of 2 is used to find the root . It means plus minus.

maddymax123456: It is correct bcoz √4=+-2 as +2×+2=4 and -2×-2=4 so it's correct

Hai friend ,

It is "plus or minus" sign

It is used in maths, where the situation has many probable outcomes.
It is also used when finding square root

The plus-minus sign (±) is a mathematical symbol with multiple meanings. In mathematics, it generally indicates a choice of exactly two possible values, one of which is the negation of the other.
Eg:-

3±2=3+2=5 or 3-2=1

√4=±2=+2=-2
