The three organs of the Government are: Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

i) Legislature : This is the branch of government which enacts, amends and abolishes the laws. The Parliament of India is the best example of the Legislative branch of Government.

ii) Executive : This organ or branch of the Government is engaged with the work of implementation of laws enacted by the Legislature, collection of taxes, promulgation of ordinances, etc. The President, Vice President, Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers forms the Union Executive of India.

iii) Judiciary : The branch of the Government which deals with the interpretation of Constitution, holding up the rights of the people against the Government, is known as the Judiciary. This organ is considered as the most independent organ of the Government as it is free from any political influence. The Supreme Court of India, the High Court of the States and the Subordinate courts forms the Indian Judiciary.
