Given :

Angle 1 = 4x + 23

Angle 2 = 2x + 1

Angle 3 = 90°

Angle 4 = 3x

Solution :

= Angle 1 + Angle 2 = 90

( Complementary angles )

= 4x + 23 + 2x + 1 = 90

= 6x + 24 = 90

= 6x = 90 - 24

= 6x = 66

= x = \dfrac{66}{6}

= x = 11

Angle 1 = 4x + 23

= 44 + 23 = 67

Angle 2 = 2x + 1

= 22 + 1 = 23

Angle 3 = 90

Angle 4 = 3x

= 3 × 11 = 33

Part 2

Solution :

Angle 1 = 45° ( vertically opposite )

Angle 2 = Angle 4 ( vertically opposite )

Angle 3 = 90°

Angle 1 + Angle 2 + Angle 3 = 180

( Linear pair property )

= 45 + Angle 2 + 90 = 180

= Angle 2 = 180 - 135

= Angle 2 = 45

Angle 2 = Angle 4 = 45
