THE PLIGHT OF RURAL-DISTRESSED INDIA
BY ANVI GOTTLIEB
this picture study is indeed an enthralling one depicting the plight of common people perhaps and also demonstrating the superiority complex of the wealthy people or the zamindar..
as we may see..
the land distribution in this picture reflects injustice and of course seizing away of land rights by a unjust person too. in no way this distribution is encouraged but it's the usual scenario of common rural India..
the zamindar stands proudly in front of the land but the common farmers seem Haunted and perturbed perhaps..
this reflects the trend of keeping more and more of land to oneself too...
rather than thinking of others..
the another interpretation we can make out is that of the farmers becoming landless which this wealthy person is accumulating everything he finds..
this poses a serious threat to the common people's agriculture and other occupations carried out on
their land..
we need to change it..
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

Hi!
The plight of farmers during British Rule:-
The above picture means that, a lot of small farmers owned a small piece of land together while a big Zamindar owned a big piece of land individually. As there were a lot of small farmers working on a small piece of land, this led to pressure on agriculture and fragmentation of land. The productivity of the land reduced and famines became regular. Lots of small farmers became landless and there was a rise among the absentee landlords. The big Zamindars had the small farmers working for them. This was the situation during the British rule.
Thank You
