Given : point A(2,0), B(5,0) and C(5,3).

To Find : co-ordinates of the point D such ABCD is a square

Solution:

A(2,0), B(5,0) and C(5,3).

Slope of AB = (0 - 0)/(5 -2 ) = 0

Slope of BC = ( 3 - 0) / (5 - 5) = 3/0

AD ⊥ AB

=> Slope of AD = - 1/0

Let say point D = ( x , y)

Slope of AD  = ( y - 0)/(x - 2)  =  - 1/0

=> x - 2 = 0

=> x = 2

CD ⊥ BC

=> Slope of CD = -1/(3/0) = 0

Slope of CD  = ( y - 3)/(x - 5)

( y - 3)/(x - 5) =0

=> y - 3 = 0

=> y = 3

Point D ( 2 , 3)
