Given : points P(2,0) ,Q(5,0) and S(2,3)

To Find : the coordinates of the point R  such that PQRS is a square.

Solution:

PQRS is Square Hence opposites sides are parallel

P(2,0) ,Q(5,0)

along x axis

RS || PQ  hence RS || x axis

=> R  , y coordinate will be same as  S

S = (2 , 3)

=> R  y coordinate =  3

P(2,0) S(2,3)

x coordinate is same hence parallel to y axis

=> QR also parallel to y axis

=>  R x coordinate same as Q

Q = ( 5 , 0)

=> R x coordinate  = 9

Hence R = (5, 3)

PQ = QR = RS = PS  =  3 unit

area = 3 * 3  =  9 sq units
