Reflection of P(1, 3) in x-axis = S(1, -3).

Reflection of Q(2, 6) in x-axis = R(2, -6).

To plot :

  • The two points P(1, 3) and Q(2, 6)
  • Reflection of P and Q in x-axis on the graph sheet.

Given :

  • Two points P and Q.
  • Value : P (1, 3) and Q(2, 6).
  • Reflection of P in x-axis named as S
  • Reflection of Q in x-axis named as R.

To find reflection of P and Q in x-axis :

If a value or point reflects in x-axis, follow the condition given below :

Point reflects in x-axis that is, (x , y) = (x, -y).

Point "y" value changes to "-y".

So, the reflection of P(x, y) = P'(x, -y)

                                 P(1, 3) = P'(1, -3) = S(1, -3)

And the reflection of Q(x, y) = Q'(x, y)

                                  Q(2, 6) = Q'(2, -6) = R(2, 6)

Hence, the reflection of P(1, 3) and Q(2, 6) in x-axis is S(1, -3) and R(2, -6).

Plot the graph with the points given below :

P(1, 3)  Q(2, 6)  R(2, -6)  S(1, -3)

Which forms a trapezium PQRS.
