A 12.2 g sample of X reacts with a sample of Y to form 78.9 g of XY. What mass of Y reacted? Show your work

mass of reactant X = 12.2 g

let mass of reactant Y = y g

compound = XY = 78.9 g

X+Y = XY

12 + Y = 78.9

Y = 66.7 g
