In the below question why is the base area of cylinder is not included even though it is not mentioned in the question that it is hollow .It can be non hollow ryt.So what is the real answer?

when two solid figures are combined the tsa of that figure will be equal to the sum of CSA of solids present unless the cost of painting or canvas is asked

in this question it is said that mayank made a bird bath which is in the shape of a cylinder also it is curved from upside that is why to find the total surface area of the figure we will add the curved surface area of cylinder and the curved surface area of hemisphere not the base because it is open from upside
