no. of failure boy= 58%= 58×11= 638
no.of failure girls=70%= 70×7= 490

so, percentage of failure boy and girls is equal to.
 \frac{638 + 490}{1100 + 700} \times 100 = \frac{1128}{18} = 62.66\%

2nd)
42% boys pass
So no. of boys passed.. is 42% of 1100 which is 462...

30% of girls passed i.e. 210 girls passed.

Total students = 1100+700 = 1800
Total students passed = 462+ 210 = 672
So, students failed = 1800 - 672 =1128

Percentage of students failed is (1128/1800)*100
= 564/9 = 62.6%

3rd) First no. be x and second no. be y.
Given, (40/100)*x is 2y/3
so, x/5 = y/3
so, x/y is 5/3...

Anonymous: Which part ?
sweety2137: 3rd one
Anonymous: It's given that 40% of 1st no. is equal to 2/3 of another no
Anonymous: So, let the 1st no. be x and 2nd be y
Anonymous: then, 40% of x = 2/3 *y
